Another Loss for Greenfield

It was not one of the better days for Greenfield yesterday, suffering a second loss in as many games, this time against Gujarat. Much like the last match, the batting faltered early on, with 5 wickets falling for 10 runs, and although we scored more than in the previous game we never fully recovered and found ourselves short of runs. Once again, extras took top honors in the scoring department with Arees coming in second. Karteek offered some resistance, guiding the tail with 14 runs, but was the last man out with Greenfield’s total on 94.

Not to be demoralized by the low total Greenfield came out to field with the usual energy determined to make it tough on Gujarat. Alex drew blood first getting rid of Harish while Karl dismissed Amit. However, a solid partnership coupled with a few missed opportunities in the field saw the guys drop their shoulders until Rahul picked up 2 wickets. By then, the outcome was predictable as Gujarat got the victory in 27 overs.

The third match against Edmonton coming up on Monday, and although it is still early in the season Greenfielders know what needs to be done to put that check mark in the Win column.
